What is WIPA / Benefits Planning?
How to get WIPA services
WIPA stands for Work Incentive Planning Assistance, or for short, Benefits Planning. Benefits Planning is a valuable service that helps individuals with disabilities understand how employment may impact their Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and other public benefits while pursuing meaningful work opportunities.
Personalized Benefits Planning empowers individuals to make informed choices about how returning to work, earning an income, or starting a business can impact their public benefits. Benefits Planning helps reduce fear and uncertainty surrounding loss of benefits by providing accurate guidance, work incentive education, and customized planning tailored to each person’s goals and circumstances.
WIPA also supports long-term financial independence by helping individuals develop strategies to achieve their employment and financial goals while maintaining stability and maximizing available resources.
